Cheap Reflow
So you have a surface mount board prototype and would love to work it yourself. This is about the easiest and cheapest way I have seen!
My first baby.
Yep in the 70’s I dropped $3000+ for a system with an 8K basic Rom and a whopping 140K disk drive! It was the amazing Exidy Sorcerer with an S-100 bus expansion. I had to make my own joy stick, program my own games and build my own sound card. Things have changed a bit since then!
Great Embedded Systems
There are some very good systems out there for embedded work. Rabbit Semiconductor is a super charged Z80 system with extensive software available for all types of connectivity. Their C compiler will feel comfortable to those who like me started with plain old C. It is a shame they don't have a proper linker but you can live without it.
